About Me

Hey there! My name is Amara, and I’m a theatre performer and activist. I’m currently finishing my last semester at the Sargent Conservatory of Theatre Arts (previously known as Webster Conservatory) in St. Louis. I will be graduating in May 2022 with a BFA in Musical Theatre.

I developed my passion for performing arts in theatre summer camps when I was growing up in Kansas City. Ever since I have been hooked!

During my time at Webster, I have also started getting into activism work as well. I am currently on a advocacy council for conservatory students with disabilities and have also worked closely with the WebCo Artists of Color Collective. Last year, I co-organized a vigil and protest in support of the #StopAsianHate movement.

Other interests of and hobbies of mine include listening to jazz, playing piano or guitar, composing music, and reading classic novels. One of my future aspirations is to create or work with an organization to make arts education more accessible for marginalized communities.
